Garage Door Insulation Checklist

Preparation
  • Inspect garage door for cracks, dents, or damage.
  • Gather tools: tape measure, utility knife, adhesive/tape, weatherstripping, caulk.
  • Choose insulation material:

Step 1: Measure & Cut
  • Measure each garage door panel.
  • Cut insulation to fit snugly inside panel cavities.
Step 2: Install Insulation
  • Place insulation inside each panel.
  • Secure with adhesive, tape, or clips.
  • For fiberglass, cover with plastic/vinyl sheeting.
Step 3: Seal Gaps
  • Apply weatherstripping around door edges.
  • Seal joints with caulk or foam sealant.
