Replacing A Toilet Flange - Plumbing Repair

This video explains how to replace a 3” x 4” PVC toilet flange.

The toilet flange in the video is a PVC toilet flange he that either cements inside of a 4” PVC pipe OR it can cement over a 3” PVC pipe.

The flange on the video is cemented into a 4” PVC pipe.

You start the repair by cutting off the top of the toilet flange.

Then carefully cut two notches into the remaining g hub inside the pipe.

Be careful not to cut into the 4” pipe. Only cut as deep as the hub goes.

After you cut the two notches about 2 inches apart carefully chip the piece out with a screwdriver and hammer.

After the piece is out, continue chipping the remaining piece of the hub with the screwdriver and hammer.

Once the entire hub is removed from the pipe, use primer to clean the pipe very well and then prime your new flange and then finally add cement and set it down in place.

Be sure to push the flange down completely and hold it for a moment.

Then secure the new flange to the floor with the appropriate screws.

Be sure not to overtighten the flange so it doesn’t get damaged.
